Sam improving

Fri. Dec 25th - Dr. Williams called with an update on Sam at 10am. He explained that Sam is doing much better today and they are taking him off oxygen to see how he does on his own. We don't know if the possible blockage has passed or if Sam is compensating for the loss of lung function. Either way, this was good news to hear. He thinks Sam will be able to come home Saturday and will call to let us know what time.
We visited him at 4pm and could see a big improvement from Wednesday night. We are able to visit longer than Thursday. While in a room with him, we were able to see him rest and breath much easier than before. He still had a few wheezing sounds every few minutes but nothing compared to Wed. night. They are giving him fluids and still have the oxygen line in his nose in case they need to give him more. The staples don't appear to have held so they've added a few stitches to hold it in place. Poor pup.
