Soggy Saturday

Sat. Dec 5th - We gave Sam 1000 mL of fluids, ½ a Mirtazapine, one Prilosec, three magnesium tablets, two Sucralfate & two Prednisone. We called ECVR this morning to get Sam's magnesium number. It was 1.3mEq/L - just below the normal range of 1.5-2.5mEq/L. Dr. Stoll left us a message to continue with the three magnesium tablets a day and see if we can ride out this low. He could have diarrhea if we increase it much more so we plan to stay with the current dose. It was a rainy day but we took the pups for a long walk and enjoyed a lot of snuggle time with Sam. He did seem restless during the early evening but eventually rested with us on the sofa. We worry when he is restless that he may be hurting and cannot get comfortable. This is what happened when he had gastric torsion or (GDV) X-mas eve 2000.
