call with Dr. Stoll

Thurs. Jan 7th - We gave Sam 1000 mL of fluids, one Prilosec, two magnesium tablets, three Sucralfate, two Prednisone, & 12 Tramadol. Sam & Moo played at lunch today and he had diarrhea several times today. We called ECVR to ask about his magnesium level. Dr. Stoll explained that Antech had changed their test codes so they'd run the calcium by mistake. His magnesium came back today & is normal at 1.8 mEq/L. We can now lower his daily dose of magnesium. We discussed several of Sam's results from Monday. It is always nice to have her reassurance that the results are ok and why she thinks certain items are high or low. We are due for another bisphosphonate next Wednesday. We had talked about moving to a 4 week protocol for this treatment but since Dr. Stoll will be working the weekend of Jan 16-17 we decided to continue with the 3 week protocol this month. We are nervous about another treatment considering how things went on Dec. 23rd but think these are helping to keep his calcium at a normal level.
