Sam spent the morning with Steve at work but stayed at home with Mushka during the afternoon. We had to use the 18 gauge needle for the AM sub-Q fluids and Sam expressed his displeasure with a whimper. We do not enjoy doing this to him but understand it helps flush his system of the extra calcium. He seems to have learned Steve's process and now wants to leave the room when he sees the bag & needle. Who can blame him? We gave him a liter of subcutaneous fluids - ½ in the morning & ½ this evening. ECVR exchanged the 18 gauge needles for the smaller 20 gauge and it helped tonight but the process does take longer. He ate well today and enjoyed some time on the futon with Mushka.
