Fri. Oct 9th - We gave same 500 mL of fluids this morning before taking Steve to the airport. Sam did well in the house this morning with no accidents. I worked from home this afternoon so I could keep an eye on him. While taking him out several times, he did have diarrhea but no black stools today. Dr. Ruslander had requested updates & a photo of the melena Wednesday night so I sent another photo today of the improvement. How sad is it that we are happy to see the color change? He actually texted back, "Looking good, made my weekend." I gave Sam Sucralfate & Cerenia today. He ate some cheese, goldfish crackers & a small amount of baked chicken. I was able to give him 500 mL of fluids alone tonight. Normally, it takes two of us because he tries to sit up but tonight he slept through most of the procedure.
Steve called from the WWII Reunion and shared the great stories being told there. I do hate to miss all of our reunion friends but could not have left Sam.
